Baby Yoda is one of the greatest things to come out of the Star Wars universe. But greatness isn’t cheap.
The Baby Yoda puppet in Disney+’sThe Mandaloriancost $5 million to make, actor Adam Pally toldEntertainment Weeklyin an interview published Saturday. Was it worth it? For the viewers, I’d say yes, absolutely. And for Disney, I would also say yes because that thing is definitely a money printing machine.
Pally had a scene inThe Mandalorianwhere he had to punch the green little space baby and he toldEWthat series creator Jon Favreau reminded him of the value of the puppet and to be careful when punching it. Pally admitted that it made him a little nervous, which is completely understandable.
The puppet, while being one of the most adorable things in the universe, is clearly a complicated little creation. WhenThe Mandalorianis over, that’s going to be quite the expensive collector’s item.
Lucky for us, though, if you really need a Baby Yoda in your life you can buy a doll that’ll only cost you like $30.
Baby Yoda will undoubtedly be returning in the second season ofThe Mandalorianon Disney+ for more fun adventures with the Mandalorian. Will he grow at all? We’ll see. They’d have to drop a few more million on a new puppet though, so I bet he’ll stay exactly as he is right now.
